Just Keep Drawing
Just Keep Drawing is a western, mostly.
You are the Stranger on the ridge, off screen, with a mouse and a gun that holds two rounds. A kid with nowhere to be walks west and shoots whatever is in front of him. You cover him: shoot what he can’t hit (anything in the air), what is reaching for a gun, and the bottles on the fence that somebody behind it keeps putting back up. Everything pays. Spend it on the trail, on special rounds for your revolver, on jobs for the Kid.
What’s in the demo
- Eight stages, five waves and a boss each: a barn, a water tower, a suspiciously large cactus, a saloon piano, a locomotive, a bell, a shack of dynamite, and the Sun.
- A showdown at every boss: the bell rings, the world slows, and you shoot the mark before it closes.
- Bullseyes, trick shots, six-for-six, bandits who draw, vultures who dive, mine carts that rumble first.
- About 20 to 50 minutes, depending on how well you aim (and an idler never gets there). It ends with a sunset. “Keep playing” is there.
Controls. Mouse: click, or hold, to shoot. Keys: Space shoots, 1 to 5 open the tabs, M mutes, Esc closes windows. Mouse only: not for phones. Sound helps.
Saving. It saves in your browser as you play (Settings can export and import a save). One tab plays at a time: a second one will ask which should. Clearing site data erases it.
This is a demo. Tell me what you think in the comments: where it dragged, what you’d buy first, whether the showdowns are fun. This demo sends anonymous play stats (a random id, your progress and frame rate; no name, no email). Switch it off in Settings.

Fun.
The Deadeye perk is very broken. Once you get it you can spam or use an autoclicker on a target's bullseye to gain a huge dps advantage that can carry you through to the end of the game more or less. This is even more powerful with ricochet bullets, as you can shoot a stationary target to take out vultures and bandits while they're moving. To balance it you could make it have a .3 second delay between perk activations.
I also came into this game thinking the first part was going to be the full game, almost like a shooting range incremental, which I was looking forward to. Following the boy was still an interesting concept though, but I'd love to see that first part fleshed out as it's own game. Similar to The Gun Game 2 if you're familiar.
Also the "Toss" perk under the "Tricker Shooter" job causes the bandits to walk sideways/upside down when they land.
Thanks for playing, and for the detailed notes!
Deadeye: you’re right. Every bullseye hands the round straight back, so nothing limits you except how fast you can click, and with Ricochet it’s worse, like you say. A short delay between activations is the first thing I’ll try, so thanks for the number.
Toss: that’s a bug, thanks for catching it. Thrown bandits land at a quarter turn and keep it when they get back up and walk. I’ll get it fixed.
And fair point on the first part. The fence was only meant as a short warm-up before the Kid walks in, but a whole shooting-range incremental in that style sounds like fun. I’ll go look up The Gun Game 2.
